Ladies, you WISH it was that easy to gain muscle mass! To get “toned” you have to gain muscle! Lifting a 5 lbs dumbbell isn’t going to do anything. Your purse probably weighs more than 5 lbs! We don’t have the testosterone level to “bulk up” like guys. The only reason you should be scared to look like the Hulk is if you take steroids.

Morning Cardio

I was going to go to the gym last night, but got caught up with phone calls and bachelorette party planning. So for the first time since moving to Vegas, I woke up earlier than usual this morning to go for a run. I’ve been doing all my running on the trendmill for almost a year now, so running outside was of course going to be harder.

I got out the door at 8:30AM and the sun was already scorching. I wanted to stop after about 5 minutes of running, but I kept going. It was hard to breathe, the dry Vegas air is not friendly to the lungs. I used Endomondo to track my running. I completed 3.18 miles in 38:30. That’s including my warm up, cool down, and a short break at 1.5 miles.

Yeah, it’s a pretty sucky time but I’m not too worried about it. I can do a mile in less than 10 minutes on the trendmill, but with the added elements outside I knew I was going to be slower. I’m just proud that I got out and ran this morning. I’m hitting the gym again tonight. I hope I can make it to cycling class. If not, I’m going to do at least 45 minutes of cardio of some sort and of course some strength training. This is going to be my first double workout day in a while.

This is probably how I looked like this morning. SMH. -_-;;
